Rescue of Mexican Workers

As the news was breaking on Tuesday February 5, 2019 that the Canadian Border Services, OPP & Barrie Police had rescued a large group of Mexican workers from a Human Trafficking Ring, a request for assistance was received from Living Water Resort.

On Thursday February 7, 2019, 43 individuals visited The Salvation Army and received food, clothing and personal supplies from The Salvation Army Collingwood’s Food Bank and Thrift Store.  The value of the assistance provided exceeded $3,500.00.

We were honoured to support those who are directly serving these individuals and stand ready to provided further assistance as requested.  Special thanks are given to our staff and volunteer for their efforts in coming to the aid of those in need.
