Food Bank: We are open 2 days a week by appointment.
Time and Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays,
10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm
We are closed between 12:00-1:00pm for staff lunch break.
Our Community and Family Services Department provides a wide variety of holistic support systems designed to meet the specific needs of the community where we live. The Salvation Army Community and Family Services continues to innovate and evolve to meet the changing needs of those in our community.
Food Bank Services
- The Salvation Army assists families and individuals with non-perishable food items, frozen meat, dairy, bread, and fresh fruits and vegetables every 28 days.
- Our ‘Shopping Room’ is a model of emergency food distribution that enables individuals to select their own food, much like a grocery store. Shopping room pantries allow individuals to choose from a wide variety of foods, better enabling them to meet their personal dietary needs.
- The Shopping Room Model offers other advantages, including:
- a sense of dignity for participants and their families
- higher satisfaction with the food they can choose
- less waste and ultimately better use of food provided
- greater opportunities for volunteers and participants to interact
- more social, supportive relationship opportunities
